The Phitsamai Grilled Chicken and Somtum shop is located at Si Chai Tong lane , near Chaeng Wattana, Bangkok. Owned and operated by Khun Phitsamai, also familiarly referred to as “Paa” or aunt, the shop has been offering its smoky, fragrant grilled chicken and plates of spicy somtum with sticky rice for the past 30 years. But that’s not all. Phitsamai’s a proper Esaan restaurant that also dishes up a range of fiery foods from the Northeast, including Larb- or spicy minced meat salad and Namtok or grilled meat salad. The shop is a lively scene with Paa Phitsamai behind her trusty “khrok” or mortar and pestle, smashing strands of green papaya into delicious plates of somtum. Prices are at a very affordable range. The pandemic nearly ran Paa Phitsamai out of business with low volumes of sales and many losses. Come out to support her and her legacy you will not be disappointed with her flavors that pack an Esaan punch.

Tapica Bubble Tea opened only 2 years ago and has curated a large variety of spectacular different teas to accommodate your preferences, and is open from 10:00am to 7:30pm and is located on Samakee road right outside the Nichada Thani main gate. Ms Chu, founder of Tapica began her career in the tea business with the sole purpose of providing the community of nichada with a taste of Taiwan and its legacy. As mentioned earlier, Tapica is nowhere near lacking with a choice of tea to satisfy your cravings. They specialize in Alpine tea and tea with many different fruity aromas from your favorite fruits. Importing the best and highest quality leaves for their tea is one of many different steps to creating their lip licking good tea. The name “Tapica” comes from the word tapioca which is what is used to create the bubbles, she used a catchy word and made it even catchier and on top of that it represents the tea itself. If you are planning to go to Tapica anytime soon we recommend you try their signature drink, the “lychee bubble tea” which contains the aroma of lychee due to the fact that the lychee is dried with the leaves as well. Tapica is a no-brainer for any situation you're in. Visit Tapica using the map above, or call the number for home delivery.

From 6 in the morning, to 9 in the evening, Khun Nong and Chef Nok serve a wide array of Thai food, notably the Chicken Cashew, Tom Yum fish, Tom Yum prawn, fried rice, and their number one best seller; mango with sticky rice. Khun Nong opened the restaurant when she was 16 years old and is now 55. The restaurant has been running strong for 40 years, even making it onto Channel 9 News! Covid 19 has brought difficulties for Sunthon Ahan Thai, just as any other restaurant, but through the use of programmes such as Grab and FoodPanda, Sunthon Ahan Thai was able to continue selling food to customers. Upholding a restaurant with amazing food, atmosphere, and people for 40 years can’t be easy, but Sunthon Ahan Thai has done so in the most perfect of ways. Seeing as restaurants are now open to full capacity, Sunthon Ahan Thai welcomes customers with open arms, big smiles, and mouth watering Thai food. Cafe Kabul, located just outside and to the left of Nichada's main gate, serves an array of different cuisines from Indian and Afghani cultures, creating a unique blend of flavors that are seldom found elsewhere. From 11:30 am to 9:00 pm, Cafe Kabul caters to the palettes of vegetarians, halal eaters, or just locals looking for a rich and tasty meal. Khun Shawn originally opened his business as a carpet shop, selling carpets with signature Arabic design patterns. In 2016, he expanded his business to the restaurant, and it has been a staple in the Nichada community since. Both at his restaurant and at ISB sporting events vending food, Cafe Kabul has been supported by the local Nichada community. Although the location of his shop attracts customers from the expat Nichada community, keeping a low employee turnover, and having consistent employment, has been a difficulty due to the restaurant being located outside of Nichada. Visit Cafe Kabul with directions above, or order for delivery by calling 029603386.

The New York Diner located in the heart of Samakhee road outside the main Nichada gate has long been a staple for comfort food, and home-cooked meals. Serving all three meals from 8:00am to 8:00pm, New York Diner has accommodations for all tastes and cravings across the day. Inspired by local diners in the United States, owner Khun Wee decided to bring the classic phenomenon back to Thailand, sharing the comforting atmosphere to the Nichada community. Standing strong for decades, New York Diner has been serving since the beginning of the century, and shows no sign of slowing down. Unfortunately, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted New York Diner, due to lockdowns disallowing restaurants to serve food to consumers. With restaurants now open to full capacity, New York Diner is ready to serve. Visit NYD using the map, or call the number for home delivery.
